It Started in a Bedroom
I didn't start Created by the Dragon with a business plan.
I started with a single embroidery machine sitting in my bedroom.
In October of 2021, my dad found my first machine on Facebook Marketplace. At the time, I barely knew what I was doing. Most days were spent experimenting, making mistakes, watching tutorials, and trying to figure out how thread could become something people would actually want to wear.
A few months later, something unexpected happened.
A video I posted took off on TikTok.
Suddenly there were more orders, more questions, and more opportunities than I ever imagined when I first turned that machine on.
What started as curiosity quickly became something much bigger.
The Studio Got Smaller. The Dream Didn't.
As Created by the Dragon grew, so did the opportunities that came with it.
I've had the chance to attend multiple Momocons, participate in local conventions, showcase my work at Charlie's Collectible Show, and meet some incredibly talented artists, creators, and voice actors who proudly wear pieces I've made.
For a while, the business even had its own office space.
But success doesn't always move in a straight line.
In August of 2025, the studio came home.
Today, Created by the Dragon lives in the basement I share with my boyfriend, shelves full of thread, a growing collection of unfinished ideas, and our pit bull, Cubone, who firmly believes every project should stop periodically to give him attention.
The space may be smaller now, but the goal has never changed:
Create work that means something.
Family Finds Its Way Into Everything
Created by the Dragon may have started with embroidery, but it has never really been a one-person story.
Many of the accessories you'll find through Charmageddon are handmade by my mom, whose creativity and attention to detail have inspired me for years.
It's one of my favorite parts of this business.
Not because it helps things grow, but because it keeps the work personal.
The people who support this studio aren't just customers.
They're part of a story that's still being written.
